I hope someone can help me. I have a customer who has a Denon 5800 reciever and wanted to know if he was able to upgrade it to PLII. I knew that there was an upgrade available through an authorized service center but when I called they said Denon no longer offers the upgrade. Is there anyone out there who knows if I am able to get this uprade anywhere. If i cant upgrade his reciever I will suggest a newer one.

I can't help you with your Denon, but I would say I believe Pro Logic II is overhyped. They may be better off upgrading their cable box/satellite receiver, etc. to one with Dolby Digital output.


I'd call Denon themselves, or a different authorized service center or two.
