any 5805ers using it as a prepro? whats your experience? do all of the bells and whistles work? does the room eq work? what amp are you using? how many watts per? if i get good feedback i'm thinking of keeping my 7.1 gemstone.
We currently are doing that--to an extent. In a 9.1 setup, using the 5805 in biamped mode to drive full range fronts and "surround B" plus the center; using the Gemstone to drive the "surround A" dipoles and rear dipoles. It has all integrated very nicely. No complaints apart from the Audyssey low end issues that everyone knows about.
I have my fronts run thru Classe Cam/350s and bi-amping my center with the 5805. I currently have my rear speakers with a single connection vs biamp. I will change that when I re-wire the room. Speakers are B&W 800D fronts, HM2D Center, and N802's for the rear speakers. The Denon does a great job with the Classe Cam/350s and it's own amplification.
