I've been cranking out DVD+R's of captured Betamax tapes and on occasion

our Denon 5900 refuses to read the disc(s).

The unit was back at Denon twice for being unable to play certain multichannel SACDs

(it's NOW a known problem , laser assembly was replaced) and has the latest update, ESS-6334-G.

NEVER has a problem with commercial anything or CD-R's (burned via Nero6 with the same Plextor PX-712A as the DVD+R's).

She just refuses at times. Even our ultra-picky Sony DVD-550 will read these every time

(as long as I've converted any PAL to NTSC via IFOedit).

Just a way of life? Anything I can do?

It SEEMS that perhaps she does better when on (not just in standby, which we

leave her in) for a while.

thanks, DrD

Did you make sure and set your booktype to "DVD-ROM" when burning DVD+R's on your Plextor? It's a setting in Plextools and Nero. This will ensure 100% compatibility with all players.
