I have a Denon 789 and a Bravia LCD that has only 2 hdmi ports, currently i have a HDMI cable running from the tv to the Denon, dvd player HDMI to the Denon.

My xbox 360 is also hdmi, i want to connect that to the Denon but have no more HDMI ports on my tv.

1. Do i have to buy a switch/splitter for more ports?

2. Should i change the connection to component for the tv, instead of using the HDMI cable running from the tv to the Denon?

3. Would i lose picture quality if i switch to component?

Any help will be appreciated

All you need is 1 HDMI cable from the HDMI Output on the Denon to one of the HDMI Inputs on your TV. That leaves you with 4 HDMI inputs you can use (3 on the Denon and 1 on the TV directly) so I'm not sure why you say you ran out of ports. From your post, it sounds like you only have 2 HDMI sources - DVD and Xbox.
