I must be doing something wrong. I am unable to get 2.1 to work with the denon 988.


I have the sub connected via RCA and front L/R/C (no surrounds as I haven't mounted them.


Front channels work /sound fine but I can not get the sub to fire. doing the auto setup you can hear the sub but when i pop in an audio CD nadda.


What gives?

put the subwoofer mode to LFE +Main.

Your results would be expected if your fronts are set to large.
