So as per other advice on this forum I am upgrading from my 3805 which is struggling to keep up with my speakers/room.
I've got a 989 and XPA-5 on order. I'm wondering what the most effecient way to hook the speakers up would be, since I believe each amp has higher wattage when less speakers are connected.
It would seem that if I can split the load proportionally between the two amps, it will give the most headroom per channel. Given this, would it make sense to connect the fronts to the XPA-5, and then connect the center and rear surrounds to the 989s output section? Or am I better off just connecting everything to the XPA5?
