Ahhhh.... so im looking on getting a home theater set up soon (tax $$), i need the full set up, receiver's + 7.1 speaker system. Right now i am looking on getting the definitive tech's BP10B + C/L/R2002 + BP1.2X + BP1.2X + ProSub 800 but i am completely lost trying to figure out which receiver to get.

I am already spending some good $$ on the speakers so i cant go all out on the receiver, budget is 1k. Currently looking on the below receivers. Which one do you guys recommend, i have some experience with Yamaha's and they sound awesome however ive been reading and everyone seems to reference Denon's as good receivers. Feature wise the Denon looks better. What do u guys recommend?

Denon AVR-2310CI or Yamaha RX-V1065? If theres something better, i am willing to bend to 1300 budget

What receiver did you audition the Def Tecs with when you decided on them for your system? Chances are, the brand of AVR that made the Def Tecs your choice will sound better to you.

Listening is subjective and nothing beats an audition when putting together a system, particularly an expensive one. Once you have the sound you like, then weigh the features.

The Denon 2310 can be had for just over 1/2 of your budget which would help with the savings going towards the speakers. Check your specific requirements against each AVR's specs as well as reviewing their Owners threads if you haven't already. The 2310/890 Owners thread is here . The C/L/R 2002 is a very nice center speaker especially if TV/movies will make up most of your listening. I've got one and have never had any issues with movie/TV dialog as some complain about with lesser quality centers.

I would consider the Onkyo 876 also. Onkyo 3007 is a little more. Onkyo 876 can be had new at tigerdirect. Or you can get a refurb from accessories4less. Also consider the Yamaha 1900/3900, Marantz 7002 also deserve looking into. Or get a Yamaha 665 and an Emotiva XPA3 for the fronts and let the 665 do the surround duties.

awesome. thanks for the info guys, to be honest i didnt think the denon was that cheap, i priced it on crutchfield. reason being, i want to make sure and get a good warranty on it.

i havent tested the receivers with any speakers per say, i just have heard very good things on those definitive speakers so i want to go with them, plus price point is not that bad.
