Yes, the 3806 can be set up so you use the Surr Back speaker posts as either Front B to play the same source being played in the main zone or as Zone 2 for an independent (non-HDMI) source, although I wouldn't pay more than about $300 for it as there are newer models that would provide better audio quality for not much more than that.

Denon AVR-3806 question on audio in multiple rooms..
Hey guys,
I'm pretty much a n00b with this stuff, and have a question. I apologize if it's a dumb question...
I currently have a 5.1 system in my TV room. I'm using an Onkyo receiver. I recently remodeled my kitchen and installed some recessed speakers in the ceiling. I wanted to run my 5.1 as I always did in the TV room, and also power the two speakers I installed in the kitchen in stereo (same sound source). When I try this with my Onkyo, the 5.1 drops to 2.1. A friend is selling a Denon AVR-3806. I want to know if I can maintain the 5.1 in the TV room, and runs a stereo signal to the kitchen with this receiver. Any info would be *greatly* appreciated!
