I am going on another service call tomorro to see why the audio has stopped working on our customers AVR-588. I am using a Denon DVD-558 and using the digital coax output from the DVD player to the input on the receiver. This setup has been working for about 7-8 months now and stopped working about 2 months ago. I ended up fixing it by resetting the microprocessor and it started working again, but looks like it has stopped working again now.


Does it sound like the unit is bunk and needs a repair?

I have the feeling another unit may exhibit the same issue if resetting it again, once agaion is the only fix.

do the lower end avr have issues like this? I also had a video switching issue from the get go where it would not take the VCR input from composite.
