Denon AVR - VS - Onkyo TX-SR

I am throwing around the idea of upgrading my receiver to either the Onkyo TX-SR601, Denon AVR-1804, Denon AVR-2803 or Onkyo TX-SR701. There is quite a price jump from the lower models to the higher one, is the $ justifiable? I am running all Polk RTxxxi line with a SVS sub and want something that will really give everything the power and quality of sound they need to take my system to the next level.

Low end or high end the Onkyo and Denon seem to be priced the same or very close. I'm torn because I don't know if the extra $ really will give me noticeable increase in performance. Most of my listening is HT, probably 90/10. Most listening is at modest levels, rarely if ever reach reference levels.

I like onkyo better - you might want to buy used at www.videogon.com and get a upper end model - they do sound better. onkyo integra (upper end) sounds good.

Another one you might want to consider is this panasonic sa-xr45 ($300 shipped from the web). Got some good reviews. Has this new digital amp section that is cleand and smooth. Sounds like an upscale piece.
