Denon Components Looking to Upgrad

I currently have a Denon AVR-3805. I have an HD-DVD player so I want to upgrade my reciever to accept and play the new HD format. I have been looking at upgrading to the new Denon models. Here is my questions. How would the sound quality etc of my current Denon AVR-3805 compair to the new denon AVR-2808, or to the AVR-3808? and of the 2 new recievers the 2808 and 3808 would there be any noticeable sound quality difference between the two? I'm trying to decide if the extra $500 is worth it to go with the 3808. and also trying to figure out if I went with the 2808 if it would sound better than my current system.

Hope that all made sence...

There will probably be a slight sound quality difference between the 3805 and the 2808. Keep that in mind for standard def disc, music, etc. If you are watching High Def movies and comparing that audio to your 3805, there will be no contest. The 3808 gives you more power, better audio processing, and audio streaming from your computer. You have to decide if all that is worth it to you. If you have alot of music on your computer (that is in windows media files), then it would probably be a great bonus so you could access all your songs and listen to them.

Both of those receivers are top notch, and the best selling models for Denon. You can go wrong.

I went from a 3600 to a 3808 wanted to stick with the 3000 series. I think one difference between the 2808 and 3808 is the OSD. The 3808 is most likely worth the extra. The 4308 is 1k more so unless the particular differences (not many) are needed the not worth the extra. Each of these has more watts per channel going up in model. Going from the 3600 to the 3808 there is a noticible difference in sound processing.
