Hi

I have new pdf for the Denon DVD-2500BT and noticed this:

- Complete Digital only transport to eliminate all other interferance

-Simple solution with hooking up only HDMI cable

-Discrete and separated digital video circuit and power supply to enhance clear and detail video images

-HDMI 1.3a output with Deep Colour up to 36-bit

- Bit stream output from HDMI

- Decoding Dolby Tru-HD and dts-HD master audio to PCM multi channel

I ordered one to replace Panasonic DMP-BD30

nice...this will probably be some transport. Finally a company offering a video TRANSPORT. It's about time all of the crap is taken out of these players and a simple solution piece is all that's needed.

+1

To bad is $500+ though

Very interesting in that it decodes the audio... what would be the difference between this and the higher priced Denon??

Dan, if you want, you can send me that PDF to my Email and I'll post it.

Throw me a PM if you want...

How can it be just a transport if it can internally decode the formats?

A very good question...I wondered that myself when I read the OP.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Denon has changed the specs (and prices) on both their players.
ALOT has happened in this market since the Denons were originally announced.

When are these due to hit the market?

Maybe they Incorporated both into one?

That would make alot of sense to me (as the market currently stands anyway).

Its a digital only blu-ray player. Decoding to pcm 7.1 and bitstream (both though hdmi only), its considered a transport as there is no component video, no analog audio outs, no coax digital, no toslink digital out.

2nd page of pdf shows only 1 hdmi connection, no Denon link and detachable power cable.

Very, very interesting....this isn't exactly what we expected.

If I understand correctly: it decodes ALL the formats internally and outputs it thru HDMI as PCM?

Does the pdf say anything about a Realta or Reon for video?

Is there any way for us to link to the pdf or for you to somehow post it?

When you say decoding into PCM, are you referring to TrueHD and DTS-HD MA as well and not just the lossy CODECs? If so, are you sure you aren't misinterpreting the product sheet? The player must at least internally decode legacy DD and DTS as per the BD spec and to take advantage of its secondary audio decoder.
