I just got a Denon 3806 and tried hooking up my Denon dvd-755s Dvd player to it. The 755s has a DVI out and the 3806 uses HDMI so I have a conversion cable. I started the dvd player and it was playing. When I switched the receiver to DVD the dvd player froze. I could not do anything with it, not even turn it off. I had to pull the plug to get it back. This happens every time. Even if i leave the receiver in dvd mode the player freezes as soon as I turn it on. The Player is HDCP compliant so that is not an issue. I have called denon and they are sending me a firmware upgrade for the player but said they have not heard of this problem before. This is not just an image freeze. This is a full out player lock-up. This counter stops, the whole thing stops. Any ideas? thanks

No...i hooked up the component cables and it works fine. it has something to do with the DVI/HDMI connection.
