I'm currently auditioning a Denon DVM-1805, which I was intending to give to my sister as a birthday present (I knew she was searching for a changer).
I'm so impressed with this unit's performance with regard to both audio and video, that I thought I should pass the info along.
The video is really crisp with natural-looking colors, and the Chroma Bug is nowhere to be found. i.e., the "Zorg" sign and the large red button in "The Fifth Element" are clean as a whistle.
The unit does have Faroudja's DCDi system, and the results of this fact are quite obvious.
I recently spent a lot more money for a Denon 2800II, which is quite impressive, but I honestly feel the 1805 has an edge in overall picture quality (the 2800II has the Chroma Bug).
Anyone looking for performance matching the RP-82 (which I also have), should check this Denon player out. I have seen them for as little as 299.99.
Best Regards,
Peter M
