I gather from reading that the Panasonic RP82 is essentially the same player as the Denon 900 - but with a few more bells a whistles - and less sturdy construction.

As my Sony DA333ES would do the audio decoding from the digital link, I'm not worried about the audio DACs (am I rigth about this?)

Is there any real reason to get a Denon over a Panasonic?

I must be able to play +R and +RW DVDs.

How about reliability? I had one dealer rant and rave about how Panasonic was poor in this regard.

Is there any real difference in reliabilty or warranty?

I know these are rather inexpesive, but I'd like it to last a few years.

Crap shoot. Hearing stories about the Denon 2800 for 9 months or so now, you'd think Denon's the brand with poor reliability. I doubt that's the case though.

I was going to finally jump into progressive with the Denon 900, but then I started hearing stories about muted colors and loud drive noise. The wait continues...:(
