Depeche Mode fans got a real treat not only all of the albums were released as MCH SACD but they also got the DVDs of all albums with 24/96 DTS (MCH) and 24bit stereo... An audiophile dream come true.
I am not a full time fan, Depeche Mode is not my favorite band or kind of music but the way these MCH was mixed can only be applauded. It is excellent, the mixes make perfect sense and sound more natural than stereo... Depeche Mode records, although electronic and sterile were always full of action and separating tracks into four channels benefits them profusely... I have three of them: Some Great Reward, Violator and Music For The Masses with the latter being my fovourite. It was my favorite Depeche Mode disk for ever (feels like a complete recording rather than a set of hit singles) and its MCH rendition even adds to its quality...
I envy you full time Depeche Mode fans, I wish other bands would follow the suit and re-release their complete discography in MCH SACD's....
PS. I have no use for the DVDs, if anyone interested in DVD disks (including the boxes) please let me know...
