Hey everyone,

I'm in a bit of a jam... I finally powered up my Barco 801s projector being fed by an HTPC with an ATI9000....

Well all was fine for the first movie I watched (the projectors premiere of a digital star wars transfer) for about two hours until I started messing around with fine tuning all my convergence and geometry settings.

I had some rather extreme keystoning, blanking, and adjustments and suddenly the green tube just shut itself off. No abnormal lights on the boards, all power red and green lights are lit as normal. No flickering, popping, or blurring.

I thought it was being overdriven, but I can't adjust any settings to even experiment (all adjustment text is in green). I unplugged the projector... let it sit a couple hours, powered it on, blindly fumbled through some "adj" screens and the green returned for a few minutes then went out again. Did the same again this morning, tried going to the Service menu to adj all to midpoint, but the green went again on me before I could!

Is there anyway to reset the Barco in hardware? Is my tube fried or is it possibly just some failsafe overheating issue?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I've been building up my HT system for a long time and its maiden showing has scared me significantly!

thanks in advance,

Hello

Very difficult to tel but I think its the rgb amplifier on the quad decoder board.

Also try to pull out all the boards and re seat them a couple of times and check the small connectors.

If the problem still exist maybe you now somebody to swap boards from a 801s or find a technician.

There are 3 little RGB output boards - one near the neck of each of the tubes.

Try swapping the RGB output boards between blue and green and see if the blue tube goes out instead. If yes, you need a new RGB output board or need to have the current one fixed.

The green popped on again, managed to reset to midpos blindly fumbling the remote...

Green popped on, I immediately deleted all blocks and put it back into standby... I'll play around with the boards next (I did reseat them as advised) and will go from there.

thanks for all your help and hopefully will be solved soon!
