Desperately looking for song lyrics: In the cool of the day

This song has been written by one of the most famous and internationally well known Greek composers, Manos Hatzidakis (the composer of: "Never On Sunday", "Reflections" etc.)

I am seeking for the lyrics of this song, as it was heard in the movie with the same title, (1963), starring: Jane Fonda, Peter Finch, Angela Lansbury, Arthur Hill, etc.

Naturally, the music of the movie was composed by Manos Hatzidakis, who composed the title song. Francis Chagrin composed also part of the film music. The (English) lyrics of the song were written by Liam Sullivan. Nat King Cole was singing the song in the movie.

For your further information, the movie was filmed in Greece. Robert Stevens directed it and scenario was written by Meade Roberts, based on the novel of Susan Ertz.

I would very much appreciate if somebody could give me the lyrics.

I must note that the lyrics are needed by my wife, who is a high school English teacher and she needs them to motivate the young students and show them the magic of Manos Hatzidakis, through her lesson.

I did several searches and came up short.

She may end up having to transcribe them herself, which often isnt too difficult.

Or 20 minutes of smart googling may turn them up on the Internet!

Well, as you pointed out, transcription seems to be the only solution, for now.

But, as you understand, songs are not as easy as spoken language and some syllables cannot be heard well, to be fully understood.

I have tried the Net, but no results (well, I might have to try harder and longer).

But if anyone has the disc itself (disc of any kind, CD of vinyl) the lyrics may appear on the cover or on any insert.

Anyone out there?

P.S.
Happy New Year to everyone!
