I have my computer with audio out and Video out in the basement, and my AV theatre stuff in the living room.

I bought 30 feet of both s-video cord and rca cables to bring the audio/video from the computer to the TV etc. upstairs. (cables running up the basement ceiling, beside the air induction vent, out the vent cover around the baseboard and up to the AV stuff)

I have both the computer and the AV stuff plugged into APC Back-ups-ES models (battery backup/power surge protection).

I'm getting diagonal rolling lines on the TV when I put it on the Channel I assigned to the Computer

I notice that it gets better/worse the more things I plug in/un-plug.

It's an older house.

Is there anything I can do?

I appreciate your help.

You should post this in the HTPC section cause it maybe a video card display mismatch.

It may also be a ground loop problem. If possible try plugging you PC into the same outlet as your HT and see if the bars go a way.

good hunting.
