Diamond Shield on Mits 65813

I got my WS-65813 today (wow!) Anyway, I haven't put the diamond shield on it because I have seen many threads where people ask how to REMOVE them so I assume it will degrade the picture quality. Am I correct? Just thought I would ask before going to the trouble of installing it. What function does it serve besides glare reduction and screen protection?

You are correct...leave it off unless you have kids, pets, or clumsy adults you need to protect the screen from.

I keep mine off due to my room having many windows. The difference is substantial.
