When my system was off, the volume knob was somehow turned to max. When the system was turned back on, I think I lost some of my center speaker's functionality. It doesn't seem as loud, in particular on a five channel broadcast (i.e during a Fox HD football game the broadcasters were hard to hear on the center). I have a Maranz SR 19 Receiver and Hales Revelation Center Speaker.

How do I tell if I have lost something? If so, is it repairable? I hate to end up with a $1,000 paperweight. Thanks.

Put your ear to each of the drivers to insure everything is functioning. If so, reset your levels and go on down the road.

Is is unlikely you you blew anything during a brief event.

Since the volume setting was turned to max, could it also be that a surround setting was altered? Check that as well, as surround settings will change info sent to center, LR, surrounds, etc. Put reciever into a pro logic mode so more info is sent to center, then check sound at speaker, also turn up volume and check, if no popping, or fluttering in speaker your OK, good luck.
