Recently purchased and installed the Toshiba 50 HX81 unit. At present I do not have the unit connected to neither a HD STB nor Satellite nor progressive scan DVD. My concern is that since the regular TV picture looks awful, did I miss some settings? Was it setup properly?

Is there anything else short of buying the previously mentioned equipment to make sure that I have the best quality signal?


Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Not sure by "setup correctly". I've owned the 57hx81 for a month or so. I adjusted the contrast/brightness/tint/ to achieve what I liked. I'm viewing OTA NTSC and interlaced DVD. The picture looks fine to me. The *************** website under the Toshiba section had some good recommendations for settings.
