It started to reset itself out of the blue then I got a "Severe Error" message.


It's supposed to try to repair itself for the next 3 hours and then if it's still not right, I'm supposed to call DTV.


The bastards are probably just trying to get me to upgrade to the new HD DVR for $300.

Hard drive is probably failing or failed in it. Your choices are replace it or upgrade for $199 to a new HR20/21. Of course you probably get a better deal if your a customer in good standing with them.
