Hi All,

I purchased an LN40A650 from Fry’s and when opening the box (which was sealed as new) I discovered it had no stickers on the panel (unlike the ones in the stores). I went back and exchanged it to an LN46A650 (which they promised was brand new) and once again – there was no sticker on the panel. There was only some sticky wrapping on the screen without the panel stickers. It is a Dec08 manufactured LCD and I'm questioning if it's that Samsung is saving money or me that Fry’s is selling refurbished TVs as new. Would love to hear what you got in your box if you got the TV in Nov / Dec 08.

Thanks in advance and happy New Year.

Bought my 40a530 in Montréal one month ago with no sticker. It's illegal to sell refurbished products and say it's new.. at least in Canada, in the US also I guess.

Samsung and everybody else will do everything possible to save money in the coming years. Package will be smaller and use less packaging material so that they can fit more in containers and reduce the shipping weight.

BTW, I remember that there was no sticker on the demo!

I think you only see the stickers in the store models to show what the TV has, I don't think you want stickers on your TV when you open the box.

Exactly, I don't know how all TV's are but if I saw a sticker on the bezel of my A750 when I took it out of the box, I'd just shake my head in disappointment, it's already easy to scratch by using the finest of cloth to dust it, don't need to try to be getting off adhesive.

Thank you for the answers. Yes, it scratches easily and was even slightly scratched out of the box that made me question even more. I guess they are saving money and it is new

Happy New Year. Looking forward to the discussions about the new Gen of the 6.

My 850 did not have the sticker on the bezel. It was brand new out of the box. It still had the plastic wrap all around the bezel and stand. My brother also purchased an 850 around the same time. His first set had the stickers. He had to return it. The second set did not have the stickers. I think they place them on the early build models because most of them end up on display in stores. They don't bother with later sets.

My 46A650 had stickers on it in the box. They are the type of stickers that don't really "stick" so they leave no residue and are really easy to remove. They just kind of "adhere" to the bezel rather than "stick" and pull right off. I'd be concerned that if I didn't get stickers, it would be a refurbished set. Just curious... Those of you who didn't get stickers on the bezel, did you get your instruction book, remote, batteries etc. in separate factory sealed bags?

No stickers other than the protective ones for me (ln46a650, S panel). The TV was sealed up tight as well as all accesories. It also had the heavy duty straps on the ouside and I could tell it had only been taped once. The box hadn't been opened since the factory.

My 850 that was delivered this afternoon had the stickers on the left side of the bezel.

I am wondering if the ones with no stickers have the "A" or "C" panels instead of Samsung's "S" panel. Can you guys please check which panel you have in your TV and post it here? Also, please read the following link:

Here's a picture someone put on here to check what panel you have:

I am wondering if having a sticker depends on what panel you have.
