Diff in 2 Yamaha HTiBs

I'd very much appreciate an audio expert to let me know what the real difference is in the following systems: Yamaha yht-450 and Yamaha DVX-S650. I know the basics, like the 450 is 6.1, 700 watts, no dvd and the s650 is 5.1, 405 watts, with proscan dvd player. However, I have heard that not all watts are created equal and I am unable to discern the differences in speaker quality. I can get both for less than $500, and my room is relatively small so power is not a huge issue. However, if any Yamaha and/or audio gurus out there could point me one way or the other, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!!
