I have these two features in my LCD's advance video menu and wondering what are differences (in simple terms
) bewteen these two settings in term of handling the image?

In the manual it describe Adaptive Contrast as:"Choosing On or Off to adjust gamma after analyzing the input signal automatically." And Dynamic Contrast Ratio as: "DCR auto adjust the backlight of screen."

Turning DCR Off or On does not do anything to video on screen as far as I can tell. I don't know if it is related to room lighting or not, but room lighting fluctuations does not effect it.

But engaging Adaptive Contrast give the video more "pop". It darken dark areas and lighten the light areas of image on the screen. And colors become more saturated. I like the effect as it make image more sparkle and dynamic.
