Could somebody please help me identifying the differences between these frame types from Da-Lite?


I think Da-Snap uses velcros to attach the screen fabric to the frame, am I right?


But what about Imager and Cinema Contour?

Please allow me to take a minute and answer your question. In order of their placement in our product line here are the differences between the Da-Snap, Imager and Cinema Contour.


Da-Snap


This screen is a basic 1-1/2" square framed screen where the surface is attached to the back by snaps. Since the surface is attached to the back of the frame, the frame itself makes up the border around the screen surface. The frame comes standard with a matte black powder coated finish. However, a velour-like finish we call "Pro-Trim" is available as an option.


Imager


This screen has a 2" frame that is designed with a rounded front face much like simple trim mold you would see around an interior door in a house. The screen surface is attached to the frame by means of Velcro. The attachment point for the surface is inside the frame. Basically, the frame looks like a sophisticated "C" and the surface attaches to the inside of the "C" that is located closest to the front of the frame. (Hope that makes sense) This frame too is standard with a black powder coated finish and the Pro-Trim finish is an option.


Cinema Contour


The frame on this screen is the largest of the three and is considered to be the most Hi-End. The dimensions of this frame are 3" Wide and 1-5/8" Deep. Therefore, it provides more of a border around the screen. Much like the Da-Snap the surface is attached to the frame via snaps and the frame itself creates the border. The unique thing about this frame is the fact that the outer 1-1/2" is flat an then the inner 1-1/2" is angled back towards the screen surface. This helps eliminate any shadows and provides clean lines back towards the screen surface. This frame too is standard in a matte black powder coated finish and the Pro-Trim is an available option.


All three of these screens have the same surface options. The options range from a 0.8 gain grey fabric we call HC Da-Mat (designed for high output LCD and DLP projectors) to 1.5 Gain Pearlescent. In between those two you will find a 1.0 gain Da-Mat fabric and the ISF approved 1.3 gain Cinema Vision Surface.
