Sorry if this has been asked before but what is the different between Replay's version and Panasonic's version. I understand the difference in copy protection. Anything else??

1) Panasonic blocks all MacroVision-encoded video, while Replay lets you view it but if you try to dub it to VCR it re-ads the MV.


2) They are a bit different color, but both blend nicely with your home theatre goodies.

Yes. The Panasonic occasionally gets a false Macrovision detection even when it doesn't exist and blocks the TV signal. I have one of each and I have never had this problem. Also, it took Panasonic users about 3 additional weeks to get the software after ReplayTV users got it.


Other than that, they appear to be the same.
