Hi Guys,

I am from Canada, and Vizio just started launching Television models here. Dell Canada is currently selling the xvt472sv for a reasonable price. I tried researching about the model, but I got mostly reviews about XVT473SV.

I am just interested in the PQ and the quality of the panel. Can someone please tell me the difference between XVT473SV and XVT472SV.

Thanks.

They are basically the same. If I'm reading it right, the 472 is technically the 2009 model and the 473 is the 2010 model.

472 has 2,000,000:1 CR, 473 has 10,000,000:1. Numbers are bogus on each, so that's not anything to base a purchase one (IMO)

472 has 4 HDMI (3 rear, 1 side) and an S-Video input, 473 has 5 HDMI (4 rear, 1 side) and the S-Video input has been removed.

They also use different remotes. The 473 has the bluetooth remote with slide out keyboard, 472 has a more standard IR remote. I have the 472 VIA model...basically the same unit with the internet apps. Great TV over all.

Check the tech specs for both units at the links above.....they are both good TV's though....I'd go with the one you get the best deal on. I have the 472XVT

The big difference is the HDMI-1. 3 series supports 1.4a with Audio Return Channel. This eliminates one digital audio cable from TV to your receiver if (1) you don't have the cable box with HDMI and (2) your receiver supports 1.4a.
