I have a budget Sammy 55MU6290. I notice that sometimes when the tv goes into HDR mode highlights look weird. People's faces can have a purple hue. It seems to only be on certain films.
I have been using madvr to tone map because I like the picture better than passing through HDR.
But this made me curious, do most tv's have different settings for HDR mode. I know that on my TCL's some extra settings come up when it goes into HDR.
On my Samsung I don't see that to be the case. I am using the rtings settings with some tweeks, but with 90% what I watch in SDR I haven't wanted to mess up the settings since they will change for both.
Anyone got any ideas on what to do here?
