Digital Audio Coax?

235 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  bfoster
For the present, I'm trying to finish up my HT and I have a cable question. The output of the cable TV box says "Digital Audio Coax", as does my DVD player. The plugs look to be of the RCA kind.

Is this a special kind of coaxial cable or can I substitute some audio cable which has the same kind of RCA connectors on each end as the digital audio coax probably has? Special properties, other than maybe higher cost, of digital audio coax?

Use video cables rather than audio. Digital Audio Coax is 75 ohm, just like video.
