Both my receiver and DVD player give me the choice to use either optical or digital coax. The cable in either case will be no more than 2m. Which should I choose?

Use coax, optical is better for long runs.

If you are using optical the digital signal has to be transferd to optical and then back to digital in the reciver.

Use your coax output not optical.

In terms of bass response it goes a little lower and you can detect it, well I can, TRUE. The difference is quite audiable.

I could suggest monster m1000d. I have a spare lead. 0.5meter

I just lucked out on a Monster M1000d dig coax cable...got it for $50! I'm gonna have to do some comparisons with my Ultralink Toslink sometime.

Are Ultralink component video cables any good?
