I have a receiver that expects optical digital output from my cable box. However, my digital cable box only outputs in coaxial digital.

Can anyone recommend a converter that will allow me to connect the coax digital out of my cable box to the optical digital input of my Sony receiver?

(I am out of coax inputs on this receiver - remapping, etc., won't get me around this...)

Thanks!

I'm also out of coaxial inputs but instead of converting to optical I'm going to try switching the coaxial digital with a video switcher. I tested it with a Sima A/V switcher and it worked fine, but since I'm using the S-Video inputs already (had to unplug them to use the composite video inputs) I'm planning on trying an inexpensive switcher to see how it worked out.

Before I bought a new receiver I used the Midiman Co2 converter. It may not be quite up to the build quality of the audioauthority converter but the Co2 is cheaper and bi-directional.
