I have a confession to make. I've always been a tube guy and my HDTV is a Sony XBR970 tube. I bought my tube about a year ago for only 600 bucks because CC was closing them out and it is my first HDTV. At the time LCD and Plasma displays didn't really appeal to me mainly because of the digital delay time on flat TVs and they didn't have as good of a picture. However TVs have much improved in pic quality since then and that left me with only one complaint. I don't have any high def game systems so nothing I would play would run in any flat panel's native resolution which would mean delay.

Last night I hooked up the first guitar hero for PS2 to my cousin's new 42 inch Samsung. I was ready to experience this annoying delay I had always heard about. After all the first guitar hero has no delay compensator and does not run in progressive scan. I began to play and detected no delay. Is the digital delay problem finally a thing of the past on mid-priced TVs?
