I have a Denon AVR-1803 receiver that has a digital optical out port. So I ran a cable from that to the Digital Optical in on the expansion card that came with the KT333.

I run mixer (the C-Media volume program), changed the speakers to two like it said and then enabled S/PDIF playback. Apparently it can only record from that line and not play back from it? Either way, recording doesn't work either. I get no sound from it at all.

Has anyone gotten a setup like this to work? What am I missing?

I've checked these things:

- The optical cable works going from another source into the receiver

- The feature is enabled in the SOYO Combo area of the BIOS

- Going from another source (ie Xbox) directly to the sound card does not work.

So basically I've isolated it to the sound card/volume program that's not doing it.

OS: Windows XP Pro

MB: Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultra (Platinum PCB)

Capture Card: 3dfx VoodooTV 200 PCI (only video runs through this)

Sound-card: On-board - C-Media 8738 - drivers

Receiver: Denon AVR-1803

I'm really stumped on this one. I might try buying a Hercules Gametheater XP to see if that one works, but I'd prefer to just be cheap, if at all possible :)
