Hello,

I would like to have a tool to help me calibrate my display settings (I'm currently outputting to SDTV but plan to buy a projector in the short term).

I plan on buying the Digital Video Essentials DVD. Does it matter if I buy an NTSC or a PAL version if I intend to use it only on my HTPC ? Are the calibration tests different because of the video standard or is it just a matter of compatibility with the DVD player ?

Any other recommendation ?

Thanks in advance

I am almost sure that the content for both DVDs is identical. It was filmed in HDTV and reencoded for each corresponding video standard. The quality of PAL encoding is higher than NTSC so it makes sense for you to buy a PAL version. You will have an extra benefit of being able to use it (for yourself or friends) on regular DVD players.

In other word I cannot think of a reason to buy a NTSC version in your region.
