I haven't found a price tag on it, but it seems like a alltime great projector. Maybe, finally a CRT killer?

Forget the new Sharp 9000, this ones really hot!

JVC showed a prototype of the QXGA D-ILA at Infocomm. A number of us were there to look at it.

Far and away the best electronic image I have ever seen. Really awesome. It beats all sorts of CRT's, as well as the big 3 chip DLP's.

I assume that this is the production model of that prototype.

And I believe a reported price tag of $100,000+

As I recall one of the magazines was quoting $250,000 and JVC was saying that they were working on a "home" version for around $100,000.

It's mentioned in this month's Perfect Vision. It was more like 175K with a home version closer to 100K (cheap !). I actually recall this projector being discussed by the Tom Stites (JVC Professional Products) some time back here in the DLP/LCD, DILA forum. ( http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/007075.html and http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/006603.html )

GOSH! Looks like another mortgage to me!

Or 8 G-15s stacked together

I hope their price tag comes down to really affordable once they have their research cost covered.

I thought it was for digital cinema. (~125,000) Yes QXGA is great, but they said they had a chip with ~4000x2000 in lab. Go to JVC.com and go to pro section. Search on QXGA and all sorts of nice tidbits... (including prelim brochure...)

Just a guess, but "projecting" into future, the QXGA will come down to more affordable home use, and the super pixel counts will keep em coming to the movie house.

3-5 also has a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 pixel chip available to developers. Sorry if link messed up, don't post much... http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...001/0001507470

So JVC won't be alone...

Just in case anyone missed the posts by forum members lucky enough to attend the Siggraph conference in LA last month: JVC was showing a 4k*2k chip. *That* was the most impressive digital image I've ever seen. They didn't even have a price for that one. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
