I will be installing Directv next week, already fired my cable co. Once everything is up I plan on installing a 4 x 8 switch so I can get my over the air & the 2 satellites out to 4 tvs, 2 Phillips DSR6ks, 1 basic receiver, and 1 HDTV receiver that will also be connected to an OTA hd antenna. My question is do I need to put diplexers on both of the lines going into the TIVOs to pull off the OTA signals and terminate one signal or can I get away with only 1 diplexer on 1 line feeding the OTA to the tv. Thanks.

You only need a diplexer when access to both the DBS and OTA feed is required. Each output of a 3xN or 5xN multiswitch may be..

- Directly connected to a satellite receiver

- Directly connected to a TV

- Connected to a satellite receiver and a TV using a diplexer
