(I originally posted this under the DirecTivo forum, but probably more appropriate here. The tech doing the service call said he couldn't help me with a DirecDuo DirecTV LNB, but it ended up being a cabling issue. I want to keep a set of DirecDuo LNB's on hand as spares if I can find them cheap)
I've got a service call coming Tuesday under the "new" DirecTV service plan, but I imagine I will get a clueless tech that doesn't even know what a DirecDuo is, so I want to have a good idea of what to tell him when he shows up.
Is the DirecDuo DirecTV/DirecPC LNB one part or seperate?
I have the old gray DirecDuo (sold in 1999). Does that complicate matters?
I'm almost sure it is a special part. One of the DirecTV LNB's is bad. Does anybody know who sells this part (for the gray DirecDuo) or have a part number?
I was hoping this would never happen. I was on the phone with Hughes, DirecPC, and DirecTV yesterday and they all wanted to pass the buck.
Go with seperate dishes. I hope by the end of this I'm not forced into a seperate DirecTV Plus dish and install before I wanted to invest in one.
