Hi Group-

I live in Columbus, OH but would like to pick up local Pittsburgh Channels via DirectTV Sat. Can I just change the zip code in my DirectTV guide and start to recieve those stations or am I geographically stuck with local Columbus stations. Thanks in advance.

The locals available to you are based on the service address on file at D*. The zipcode in the menu is only for giving you sat allignment instructions. You have to call D* to change your service address.


You can have a different service address and mailing address with D* (or E*) which is convient if you are spending time in your vacation house.


Since locals are broadcast using spotbeams, it is possible the signal from Pittsburgh may not reach you, but I think you'd be close enough.


You can search about "moving" as legally the Pittsburgh stations cannot re-broadcast their network signal into your DMA.
