I understand that HiPix will work with DirectTV.

I am unclear whether MyHD will as it mentions that it will not work with satellite HDTV tuners.

Also, from looking at the DirectTV home page, DirectTV doesn't seem to be an HTDV signal anyway. Just tying to think about future compatibility.

I believe your understanding is incorrect. Hipix can not record HDTV from Directv.

Bogney - so when the manual says:

----

The HiPix DTV-200 accepts analog audio and video signals from VCR’s, DVD players, and

DBS receivers (such as Direct TV, or DISH systems), and converts these signals to high

definition signals for display on an HD ready television or computer monitor.

----

It is really saying that it can display DirectTV, but not record it?

I wish there were a side-by-side comparison between the HiPix and MyHD.

Directv has HD versions of Showtime and HBO. It also has HDNet. Hipix can not view or record the HDTV signal. You could feed the standard def downconvert from your Directv HD STB to the Hipix but you can only view it, not record.
