no body is going to risk buying DirecTV, even Charlie, in my opinion

however this box looks interesting, and should keep them in the game a bit longer

That might keep AT&T in the game but won't help DirecTV. That's the AT&T TV box. As posted earlier, they will no longer be pushing DirecTV, as they are looking to move customers to AT&T TV and the box you linked to.

Pricing his too high though in my opinion, especially with the second year hikes.

If the NFL Ticket leaves DirecTV and becomes streamable, I'm leaving as well.

with the exception of rural areas
remember sat tv was developed for areas that do not get traditional cable, and now you can add internet to that


@15% of the country can only get sat tv


those are the people dish and directv are designed to server, anyone else is a bonus

In a perfect world, at least my world anyway, AT&T would sell DirecTV and DirecTV could thrive again. I HATE AT&T with a passion and would love to have DirecTV free of them.

I'm sure some people will enjoy the new AT&T TV, I'm just not one of them.

i agree that att has hurt directv, but i would prefer they keep it over selling it to charlie

Not a word about PQ in any of these beta previews. I'd love to see a comparison of PQ on this new service vs legacy Directv. I have zero doubt it will be different, at least on some channels. Will it be better or worse, we just don't know at this point. For me that's a huge issue.

Just got DTV 4k in a new house. Watched a bit of the bucks nuggets game in 4k last night and it looked pretty impressive.

Tonight, I was all set to watch the Bulls / Cavs game on the same channel as the bucks game from last night and got a 721 error. Did some googling and also called into DTV with no avail. Has anyone found any rhyme reason to why that error comes up?

edit: I should clarify my setup - genie 2 with c61k.

“DIRECTV Error Code 721. This error might be caused by one of the following situations: The channel you're trying to watch is not included in your programming package. Your receiver is not processing the programming information on this channel.”

so either your veiwing package does not include that channel OR whatever you use to decode the DTV signal cannot decode the channel information correctly.

this may help a bit...

in that video i posted it talked about a procedure for resetting the programming.

i did NOT watch the entire video closely though.

and honestly, the only way it would be an hdmi problem is that if you were using a cable that wasnt rated for 4k. i cant see it being any other problem than a box issue because you were still getting a picture with the error code in it.

is the box the 4k box? i know when i seitched to 4k DTV i had to get a new box. maybe a faulty box?

just trying to eliminate some potential causes

I think it might be related to your subscription package. Channel 104 & 105 are typically the ones that are available to everyone, although games on 105 can be blacked out if you don't have a subscription to NBA League Pass or one of the specialized sports packages. Channels 106 & 107 are PPV movies or other special events.

This might have been what it was then. Super cryptic error message, and obviously a terrible customer experience to have these channels that don't always work.

That's what it was. That game was simply blacked out for your subscription package. Check out the "4K Live Sports & Events Schedule" up in the "Sticky" section of the Programming Forum. It's constantly kept updated and usually defines which games will be available generally and which ones will be exclusive to certain subscription packages.
