I've just added the DirecTv HD package and am currently viewing it using the Samsung TS160. I've got a question about the programming.......

On the 4 HD channels, only certain programs show the HD logo indicating that they are being transmitted in high definition. Is this normal? I know that ESPN HD only will have a few programs a week that are shown in HD, but Discovery HD only shows certain programs to be in HD. The 2 HD Net channels don't have the little HD logo on any pf their programming. Is this because ALL of the programming on the 2 HD Net channels is in HD?

Am I too hung up on looking for the actual HD logo on the program guide? Overall, I think the setup works great and I'm sure that I'm seeing a lot of programming in HD, even though the program information doesn't always say so.

I don't have D*, but I think that Logo might not always be there when it should. HDNet, HDNet Movies, and DiscoveryHD are always HD.

Yes the guide is inconsistent.

If you notice, HDNet still has the $ sign on it.

Not unless the 160 is different from the E86, if your getting your locals HD OTA, it won't have the HD logo on it.

That's a good point regarding the HD logo NOT being included on OTA programming. Not that I get to see too much OTA HD programming. Only CBS transmits in HD in Omaha!

The HD logo in the EPG is not yet reliable.
