Directv RF remote

directv customer service is being no help. Can I control my Yamaha RXV6661 like I

had my TV set up prior to the stereo purchase, IE master volume control through the Directv remote? Am I dreaming?

Not both ON & OFF power commands of the yamaha, but you can control volume, using code 30176. There has to be a TV code programmed to the TV device, or the vol keys won't work. Then;

1. av1 or av2

2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks

3. enter 9 9 3

4. press SELECT

You're my hero. I know the instructions said to do 993, but didn't explain as you did. Thank you very much. I actually wow-ed when it worked.
