Just need 50wpc or more for two diy speakers and a sub preout for the bedroom TV setup. Refurb is fine, used maybe ok. What do you recommend for around 100 bucks?

Check your local Craigslist. That's that's only way to get an AVR for $99 or less. You might find some pretty good deals.
