Disc library - what is it?

268 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  opus312
Playing around with an RCA recorder - having a few problems, RCA says to reset the machine, which will wipe out the disc library. What's the purpose of the disc library?

Thanks!

I don't have any experience with the RCA, but with other manufacturers the disc libary function is like a database that retains information about the contents of discs you have recorded. For example, if you had a number of discs in progress that were not finalized, you could call up the disc library and browse to see how much free space was remaining on each of the discs without having to insert each disc individually to get a readout of remaining space.
Ok, thanks. Sounds like it's not a big deal to have the library deleted, especially if everything to date has been finalized.
