I'm still fumbling about with 5 or 6 remotes to use all the functions of my equipment so a multi-device learning/programmable remote is something I am greatly considering.

One question I want an answer to is if there are discrete codes for the wide modes and input selection of the Sony KP-46WT500 that I have. Right now I have to cycle through all the modes to get to the one I want, and there is no way to know which wide mode you were in without changing it first (some form of the Quantum observation theory at work, perhaps? :) )

Also, what remotes exist that can be programmed with codes like this that can't be received from the original remote.

Choose a PC-Programmable remote to take advantage of the discrete codes that are out there for your TV (and yes, Sony is great with having discrete codes for Power, Video Inputs, etc!), like the Home Theater Master MX-700 or MX-800, the Philips TSU-3000.
