I'm putting the final touches on my theater, and I'm thinking that I should take the plunge for a HD tuner. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Dish 6000 receiver with the HD OTA tuner module is a relatively inexpensive solution, correct? I'm primarily interested in this model since it does OTA HD inexpensively, and I can go to sattelite programming in the future should I desire.

Where should I be looking for equipment without service contracts?

Are there better/cheaper options for OTA HD? I know there are a number of dedicated HD STB products (Panasonic, Toshiba), but I'm not sure what the street prices are and how they compare to the Dish 6000.

Thanks!

Unless things have changed recently, the 6000 needs to be receiving a satellite signal full time for the OTA module to work. If you are not planning on installing a dish at this time, the 6000 is not your best choice.
