I am interested if anyone has switched from their HDMI output to Component out for hook up to a 1080p RPTV?

I only have two HDMI inputs on my JVC and I've pre-ordered

a Pioneer 51 Blu-Ray that will take one and would like to keep my new OPPO 983 hooked to the other.

My concern is the HD content on Dish. Will I see any differance if I switch from HDMI? My TV is in an alcove that

makes switching cables a big project.

Thanks,

Jack

I've recently done exactly this, since my house got hit by lightning, and it seemed to fry my HDMI inputs. Everything else was fine and not effected by the hit. Anyways, I had to switch to component inputs, along with optical audio, and as far as I can tell, the picture quality and sound is exactly the same (excellent). A lot more cables, but still better than shelling out 2k for a new HDTV.

Thanks Larry, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy a HDMI switcher.
