just got my new lcd 30" sceptre naga III. gorgeous dvd playback via rgb. however, i'm using an old dish network recevier. with the tv's built-in line doubler the standard definition picture looks rather soft and unfocused. i can try a dish 811 with dvi or progressive scan, or i can try a dvdo line doubler/scaler. is there going to be any significant improvement with non high-definition material? thanks

Im not thrilled w/ the 811. I would recommend the iscan pro.

what don't you like about it? do you see a major difference between the composite, component, dvi outputs on standard definition?

The software is still very buggy. Lots of little hassles. The picture on hd is good but the tuner is fussy. lots of dropouts.


I had to switch to an outdoor antenna to remedy the issue.

The E scalers are nothing to write home about in the entire product line, but a I think your main problem is that E broadcasts SD in less (a little more than half) than DVD resolution.
